This course explores how TED Talks and TED-Ed can support professional growth while serving as engaging instructional resources for students. Participants will reflect on selected talks, explore classroom applications, and develop an action plan for implementing new ideas in their teaching practice. This is an online course. Upon registration, your course materials will be emailed to you.

TED Talks have become one of the world’s most popular platforms for sharing innovative ideas, inspiring stories, and practical insights across countless topics including education. For educators, TED and TED-Ed offer engaging resources that spark critical thinking, encourage meaningful discussion, and introduce fresh perspectives that can be applied both in and outside the classroom. This course explores how TED Talks can serve as a valuable source of professional learning while also becoming a powerful instructional tool for students.
Throughout the course, participants will view and reflect on a selection of TED Talks focused on education and personal growth, examine ways to incorporate TED content into classroom instruction, and develop strategies for applying new ideas to their own teaching practice. Participants will conclude the course by creating a personalized action plan that translates inspiration into meaningful classroom implementation.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Share the definition of a TED Talks, identify types of TED Talks out there including TED-Ed, and share how TED Talks have impacted us as professional educators;
- Explore and reflect on the content shared in each of the TED Talks we will explore in this course; and
- Create a specific action plan around the ideas shared from the TED Talks we will explore in this course
