This course explores how educators can use YouTube as a tool for professional learning and classroom instruction. Participants will discover high-quality educational content, learn strategies for integrating videos into lessons, and develop an action plan for using YouTube to enhance student engagement. As of 2023, an average YouTube user spends at least 19 minutes a day watching YouTube videos. There are more than 114 million active YouTube channels with nearly 271,330 hours of video content uploaded to YouTube every day. Despite all of this content availability, only 7% of YouTube users use YouTube to grow professionally. In this course we’ll uncover ways to use YouTube to grow professionally and to bring high-quality educational content to your classroom.

In this course, participants will explore the basics of YouTube, how to find quality educational YouTube videos to use in the classroom to engage students, and how to use different tools to embed YouTube into learning opportunities. Lastly, you’ll leave this course with an action plan to incorporate YouTube in your classroom in the future!
