You Can Do WHAT with Google Docs?!

Google Docs, you’ve probably heard of it, right? A free word processor that was introduced in 2006 (!) that includes nearly all the capabilities of a traditional word processor like Microsoft Word. But did you know that Google Docs is much more than just a tool used as a word processor? In this course you’ll learn how students can use Google Docs to better communicate, critically think, collaborate and create. We’ll discover ways to use the features of Google Docs to create bellringers, exit tickets, HyperDocs, research, add-ons, concept maps, visual learning activities, demonstrations of learning, student engagement and community, collaboration, remote learning, and more!

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • The participant will learn the basics of Google Docs
  • The participant will explore, discuss, and build learning materials that use Google Docs to better communicate
  • The participant will explore, discuss, and build learning materials that use Google Docs to better collaborate and critically think
  • The participant will explore, discuss, and build learning materials that use Google Docs to create
  • The participant will create an action plan outlining how they will integrate what they learned into their classroom
