It’s Time for Strategic Scheduling

During this course, we will look at how strategic scheduling can be used to effectively allocate people, time, and budget resources to improve student achievement. An action and/or implementation plan will be developed based on the analysis of the current reality of the system. Participants will be expected to use tools from the book and other sources to help their own or their schools’ practices.

Required Texts & Materials:

Levenson, N., & James, D. (2023). It’s Time for Strategic Scheduling: How to design smarter K-12 schedules that are great for students, staff, and the budget. ASCD.

Also, students are expected to read relevant journal articles and resources that are assigned and engage with podcasts and videos also assigned throughout the course.

She has been an online teacher for Morningside and Northwestern Colleges and now, Grow Professionally, in northwest Iowa. Katy currently works as the president of Education Solutions, a education consulting agency.
