This course explores practical strategies for teaching mathematics to students with disabilities, focusing on understanding learning challenges and implementing research-based instructional approaches. Participants will examine why students with disabilities may struggle in math and learn how to apply the stages of learning to enhance instruction. The course will also cover the integration of technology to support mathematical knowledge, the selection and implementation of appropriate teaching strategies, and methods for modifying materials to meet diverse student needs. Emphasis will be placed on identifying common mathematical misconceptions and error patterns and incorporating accommodations into various instructional settings. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with practical skills to create an inclusive and supportive math learning environment for all students.
